What can be more powerful than saying YES to situations that might challenge you, stretch you and even scare you!

In today’s ever changing and challenging business landscape, having the courage to say YES to a new job situation that might seem out of your reach or uncomfortable says you have the confidence and trust to step out of your comfort zone and go for the brass ring.

How far out on the limb are you willing to go to get what you want? Just say YES instead of “NO, let me think about it” or any other excuse you give yourself not to face your fear?

On my website, one of the more powerful quotes is from Dr. Martin Luther King: “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t’ see the whole staircase”

When making changes in our lives, we don’t need to see the entire game plan before we move forward. It is about taking that first step and knowing that the rest will unfold as we move along.

What changes do you want to make in your life that you have been putting off because seeing the “whole staircase” is more important than taking the first step?

Follow the wise words from Nike’s ad and JUST DO IT!

TRY – Power of Looking Back

Thomas Wolfe’s book, “You Can’t Go Home Again” has been used many a time as a quote when someone tries to go back in time and relive a moment.

But last weekend, at my High School reunion, I proved him wrong because you know what Thomas; YOU CAN GO HOME AGAIN, if only in your mind.

When I left high school I never looked back and come to think of it, I did the same with college and many other parts of my young life. I was even on the fence about going to the reunion and told myself, “what for, why bother, who wants to see people that I haven’t seen in many years and who wants to be reminded of those difficult years”. But, I went and had the best time seeing and remembering people I hadn’t seen in so long.

And, in looking back I have healed a part of me. A part that lay dormant for so many years because I hadn’t addressed those painful high school years. I am still thinking about that night, have reconnected with old friends that I hope to see and I have remembered the good times I had and the more painful ones have faded away.

What a powerful experience going back was yet seeing these people in the present and carrying some of those memories into the future.

So, when was the last time you reconnected with an old friend, even an old memory and allowed yourself to look back? You might even be surprised at how powerful it can be.

TRY – Power of Letting Go

Eight weeks ago I had surgery and made a conscious decision to take it easy for the next six weeks and put my health and healing before my business obligations.

I continued to coach my clients but cleared my calendar of all business organization meetings and networking events that I attend on a regular basis.

What I learned was letting go is not easy, when we are used to the doing and having of life rather than being quiet and listening to our bodies and minds.

Letting go is a very powerful experience and I realized that it is more about taking the time to be with self and letting the rest of the world drop away, for a brief time.

What would you gain from letting go?

Could you let go? Will you let go? When will you let go?

And, what would you learn about yourself if you did?
